Located in the San Juan wilderness, Telluride Academy, a non-profit organization, provides children and teens with enriching, experiential programs that span the globe. We help to form a reliable inner compass within each student that guides compassion and creative learning, responsible choices and environmental stewardship.
Tuesday, June 30: Parent hike led by naturalist from The Nature Conservancy.
Tuesday, July 7: Rafting the San Miguel River, with a tour of the watershed.
Tuesday, July 14: Parent hike led by naturalist from The Nature Conservancy.
Tuesday, July 21: Float the San Miguel, naturalist-led rafting trip.
Saturday, July 25: Telluride Academy summer celebration! An evening party for Academy parents at Capella Telluride, a fundraiser for Academy scholarships.
Tuesday, July 28: Parent hike, naturalist-led. Learn local flora and fauna.
Tuesday, Aug. 4: Epic hike to the historic and recently restored Lewis Mine.
*All parent hikes and rafting excursions meet at 9:15 a.m. on the west plaza of the Telluride High School. Come ready for rain or shine with lunch and water. Hikes and rafting trips will run approximately 4 hours and are led through a partnership with the local office of The Nature Conservancy. Suggested donation for hikes: $40. Suggested donation for rafting: $75. Donations will cover costs and help the Academy award student scholarships.
