Founded in 1981, the Telluride Academy has evolved from a backyard day camp into one of the largest non-profit youth organizations in Western Colorado. Each year, we open the doors to 800 children and teens who participate in more than 100 different programs in mountain sports, adventure, travel, arts, theater, science and much, much more. From our home base at the Telluride Middle/High School, the Academy employs four year-round staffers in addition to the more than 50 instructors and specialists who lead summer programming. After more than 25 years in the community, the Telluride Academy has become a recognized leader in outdoor programming for young people.

The Academy is located in the Town of Telluride, but our true campus ranges from the San Juan wilderness out our windows to Utah's red rock canyon country; from the jungles of Central America to the high peaks of Southern Asia. Each summer, we head into the mountains on foot, aboard raft, by bike or with camera, uncovering the cultural, historical and environmental richness of the lands over which we travel. We hope you'll choose to join us on a unique journey.
